Symptom Troubleshooting - Automatic Transaxle [FS5A-EL]: Specifications Mazda 3 BM

NO.12 TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH (TCC) NON-OPERATION [FS5A-EL]

12Torque converter clutch (TCC) non-operation
DESCRIPTIONTCC does not operate when vehicle reaches TCC operation range.
POSSIBLE CAUSEBasically, the TCC does not operate when the fail-safe is operating. Verify the DTC first. TCC burnt (1) Input sensor system malfunction TFT sensor VSS Input/turbine speed sensor Sensor ground (2) Output solenoid valve system malfunction (Sticking) Shift solenoid A malfunction Shift solenoid E malfunction (3) Control valve body malfunction system (Poor operation, stuck) TCC hydraulic pressure system APP sensor malfunction (Not operating linear) CKP sensor malfunction Input/turbine speed sensor or VSS malfunction Brake switch malfunction (Always ON) ECT sensor malfunction Excessive amount of ATF CAUTION: If the TCC is stuck, inspect it. In addition, inspect the oil cooler for foreign particles which may have mixed in with the ATF. NOTE: Before following the troubleshooting steps, make sure that the Automatic Transaxle On-Board Diagnostic and Automatic Transaxle Basic Inspection are conducted. CAUTION
If the TCC is stuck, inspect it. In addition, inspect the oil cooler for foreign particles which may have mixed in with the ATF.
NOTE

DESCRIPTIONVehicle jolts when TCC is engaged.
POSSIBLE CAUSEPoor TCC engagement due to either slippage because the TCC is stuck or the line pressure is low. TCC piston slippage, burnt Line pressure low Shift solenoid A malfunction Shift solenoid E malfunction Control valve body malfunction Body ground malfunction Pressure control solenoid A malfunction Signal malfunction VSS malfunction Sensor ground malfunction TFT sensor malfunction APP sensor malfunction Input/turbine speed sensor malfunction CKP sensor malfunction Torque converter malfunction CAUTION: If the TCC is stuck, inspect it. DESCRIPTIONStrong shock is felt when TCC is engaged.
