TRANSAXLE RANGE (TR) SWITCH ADJUSTMENT [FS5A-EL]

CAUTIONWater or foreign objects entering the connector can cause a poor connection or corrosion. Be sure not to drop water or foreign objects on the connector when disconnecting it.

  1. Engage the parking brake and use wheel chocks at the front and rear of the wheels.
  2. Shift the selector lever to the N position.
  3. Perform the following procedures. Remove the battery cover. (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5]»(ref-579330-S31782573982013100700000).) Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the air cleaner component. (See «INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5]»(ref-579361-S37454927402013100700000).) Disconnect the TR switch connector.   4. Loosen the TR switch. Remove the clip from the selector cable. Disconnect the selector cable from manual shaft lever. (Scheme 1450): Identifying Clip, Selector Cable And Manual Shaft Lever Loosen the TR switch installation bolts. (Scheme 1451): Locating TR Switch Installation Bolts
  5. Adjust the TR switch. Verify that the manual shaft is aligned with the N position. (Scheme 1452): Aligning Manual Shaft With N Position Adjust the TR switch between terminals B and C until the resistance becomes specification. (Scheme 1453): Identifying TR Switch Terminals TR switch specification 713-787 ohms Tighten the TR switch installation bolts. Tightening torque 8-11 N.m {82-112 kgf.cm, 71-97 in.lbf}
