General Description
All 13 units which consists of the Body Electrical Control System are linked by CAN *1 line.
They are IPM (Inter Panel Module), FAM (Front Area Module), PDM (Power Distribution Module), DDM (Drive Door Module), ADM (Assist Door Module), ECW (Electronic Control Wiper), CLU (Cluster), MFSW (Multi Function Switch), PSM (Power Seat Module), SCM (Steering Control Module), PTM (Power Trunk Lid Module), FBWS (Front Back Warning System), DATC (Dual Auto Temperature Control Module).
*1 CAN (Controller Area Network): CAN is serial bus communication type which links not only communication system but also control units each other.
*2 LIN (Local Interconnect Network): LIN is serial communication type which is used in electrical control system. (This is less expensive.)

DTC Description
| Type | Condition | Remark |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | CANH Circuit Open | B1602 is presented when IC detects one of errors among 7 types under normal communication condition. According to operation condition, some of module which are connected to CAN line may not detect B1602. Also, B1603 can be detected together. |
| 2 | CANL Circuit Open | |
| 3 | CANH Circuit Short to Power | |
| 4 | CANL Circuit Short to Power | |
| 5 | CANH Circuit Short to Ground | |
| 6 | CANL Circuit Short to Ground | |
| 7 | CANH and CANL Short to each other |

Scheme 153
This is DTC which is related with communication error between IPM and other units.
(*Control Units: IPM (Inter Panel Module), FAM (Front Area Module), PDM (Power Distribution Module), DDM (Drive Door Module), ADM (Assist Door Module), ECW (Electronic Control Wiper), CLU (Cluster), MFSW (Multi Function Switch), PSM (Power Seat Module), SCM (Steering Control Module), PTM (Power Trunk Lid Module), FBWS (Front Back Warning System))
Case1: After short between ADM CAN Low Line and High Line, short to ground together.
Case2: After short between ADM CAN Low Line and High Line, short to power together.
*This code is occurred when It is not possible to transmit data by CAN Line in those way of Software and Hardware. But, It is possible to receive data by CAN Line.
This code reports BUS OFF status when data transmit error count number is over 255. The purpose is to verify the status of CAN controller and CAN communication line when error is detected.
According to operation condition, some of module which are connected to CAN line may not detect B1603.
Also, B1602 coincides with B1603 at all times.
| CAUTION | Difference between CAN ERROR and CAN BUS ERROR CAN Error: MIL On, CAN Bus Error: No MIL |
The motor of PTM (Power Trunk Lid Module) consists of Drive Motor, Trunk Latch Motor, and Power Striker Motor. Therefore, It is available to open trunk by mechanical power. Opening is controlled by Trunk Lid Outside Handle, Door Trim Pull Switch, or Remote Controller. Closing is controlled by Inner Switch or Door Trim Push Switch. Opening or closing the rid by mechanical power is performed by hinge's rotation which is controlled by rod (This rod is consists of Sector Gear linked to Drive Motor Gear).
The motor speed is monitored by Hall IC. This value is used to control the driving power. The power is up when the speed is slower than the specific value and the power is down when the speed is faster than the specific value. Besides, the trunk lid is controlled in the counter direction when there is long interval between signals from Hall IC. Because It is assumed that there is obstacle or interference.
PTM consists of Micro-processor, several chip-sets, and IC & SMT elements. Among these components, CPU which controls others and Micro-processor which memorizes information can be exposed to physical defects rarely.

This code is outputted when there is error of Check Sum Flash Memory, Check Sum RAM, or Check Sum EEPROM internal PTM.

In case the Power Striker runs into LOCK, It is 'PULL DOWN'. And in case the Power Striker runs into UNLOCK, It is 'PULL UP'. The Power Striker Motor is equipped for tightening the trunk rid with the weather strip for prevention of water leakage.
Scheme 155
This code is outputted when there is the fixed switch signal (ON/OFF) while PTM operates the trunk rid.
In case of no Power Striker Motor working and abnormal signal: faulty motor, short/open on motor circuit.
In case of Power Striker Motor working but abnormal signal: faulty switch, or short/open on switch circuit.

PTM judges whether the trunk Latch locks or unlocks the trunk rid by operating the trunk latch motor.

Scheme 157
This code is outputted when there is abnormal signal from the hall IC sensor.
Case 1: There is no pulse signal by no motor working because of faulty Drive Motor, damaged components inside Drive Motor, or short/open in circuit.
Case 2: There is no pulse signal because of faulty Hall IC or short/open in circuit.
