Note. Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ).

Scheme 90
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Check the TP SENSOR in the DATA LIST with the HDS. Is there about 0.5 V when the throttle is fully closed, and about 4.5 V when the throttle is fully opened? YES- Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the TP sensor and the ECM/PCM. NO- Go to step 3 .
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the TP sensor 3P connector.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- At the wire harness side, measure voltage between TP sensor 3P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3. Is there about 5 V? YES- Go to step 8 . NO- Go to step 7 .
- Measure voltage between ECM/PCM connector terminals A20 and A23. Is there about 5 V? YES- Repair open in the wire between the ECM/PCM (A23) and the TP sensor, then go to step 10 . NO- Go to step 15 .
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Replace the throttle body (the TP sensor is not available separately) (see «THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-220574-S07939558072006022000000) ).
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Reset the ECM/PCM with the HDS.
- Do the ECM/PCM idle learn procedure (see «ECM/PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-220572-S08440202922006022000000) ).
- Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES- If DTC P0123 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the TP sensor and the ECM/PCM, then go to step 1 . If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. NO- Troubleshooting is complete.
- Update the ECM/PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good ECM/PCM (see «ECM/PCM UPDATING AND SUBSTITUTION FOR TESTING»(ref-220569-S23624043112006022000000) ).
NO- If the ECM/PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the ECM/PCM was substituted, replace the original ECM/PCM (see «MAP SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-220570-S17955277902006022000000) ).
