DTC P0602: ECM/PCM Programming Error (2005-2006 models) Honda Element I

Note. This DTC is indicated when the ECM/PCM update is not completed. Do not turn the ignition switch OFF while updating the ECM/PCM. If you turn the ignition switch OFF before completion, the ECM/PCM will be damaged. Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ).

  1. Do the ECM/PCM update procedure (see «ECM/PCM UPDATING AND SUBSTITUTION FOR TESTING»(ref-220569-S23624043112006022000000) ).
  2. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P0602 indicated? YES- Replace the original ECM/PCM (see «MAP SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-220570-S17955277902006022000000) ). NO- Troubleshooting is complete.
