DTC P0112: INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR LOW VOLTAGE INPUT Honda Civic GA

  1. Turn ignition on. Check IAT sensor using scan tool. If 302°F (150°C) or more, or zero volts is displayed, go to next step. If ambient air temperature is displayed (temperature will be higher if engine is warm), failure is intermittent. System is okay at this time. Check for poor connections or loose wires at IAT sensor and PCM connectors. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If ambient air temperature is not displayed, replace IAT sensor.
  2. Disconnect IAT sensor connector. On D16Y7 engine, IAT sensor connector is located at left side of engine, on air cleaner box, next to brake master cylinder. On all models except D16Y7 engine, IAT sensor connector is located at rear of engine, on air tube between air cleaner box and throttle body. On all models, check IAT sensor using scan tool. If 302°F (150°C) or more, or zero volts is displayed, go to next step (D16Y5 engine with M/T), or go to step 4 (except D16Y5 engine with M/T). If 302°F (150°C) or more, or zero volts is not displayed, replace IAT sensor.
  3. On D16Y5 engine with M/T, turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM 16-pin connector "D". (Схема №4) Check for continuity between ground and IAT sensor harness connector terminal No. 2 (Red/Yellow wire). If continuity exists, check for short in Red/Yellow wire between IAT sensor and PCM 16-pin connector "D" terminal No. 8. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If continuity does not exist, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck. If symptom or indication goes away, replace original PCM.
  4. On all except D16Y5 engine with M/T, turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM 31-pin connector "C". (Схема №3) Check for continuity between ground and IAT sensor harness connector terminal No. 2 (Red/Yellow wire). If continuity exists, check for short in Red/Yellow wire between IAT sensor and PCM 31-pin connector "C" terminal No. 25. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If continuity does not exist, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck. If symptom or indication goes away, replace original PCM.
