AIR PUMP RELAY TEST (S2000)
Air pump relay is located at left front of engine compartment, right of air pump. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS. Remove air pump relay. Using a fused jumper wire, connect battery voltage to air pump relay terminal B1. Using another jumper wire, connect battery ground to relay terminal B2. (Scheme 28) Check for continuity between relay terminals A1 and A2. If continuity exists, relay is okay. If continuity does not exist, replace air pump relay and retest.

PGM-FI MAIN RELAY TEST
Note. If engine starts and continues to run, PGM-FI main relay is okay.
- On Civic and CR-V, PGM-FI main relay is located under right side of instrument panel, above passenger's right kick panel. See «COMPONENT LOCATIONS»(ref-3110-S39697342442000041800000). On Accord, Odyssey and Prelude, PGM-FI main relay is located under left side of instrument panel, near steering column. On S2000, PGM-FI main relay is located at right side of steering column.
- Remove PGM-FI main relay. Using a fused jumper wire, connect battery voltage to PGM-FI main relay terminal No. 2. Using another jumper wire, connect battery ground to relay terminal No. 1. (Scheme 29) Check for continuity between relay terminals No. 4 and No. 5. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace PGM-FI main relay and retest.
- Move battery voltage to PGM-FI main relay terminal No. 5. Move battery ground to relay terminal No. 3. Check for continuity between relay terminals No. 6 and No. 7. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace PGM-FI main relay and retest.
- Move battery voltage to PGM-FI main relay terminal No. 6. Move battery ground to relay terminal No. 1. Check for continuity between relay terminals No. 4 and No. 5. If continuity does not exist, replace relay and retest. If continuity exists, relay is okay. If fuel pump does not operate after checking relay go to «PGM-FI MAIN RELAY CIRCUIT CHECK»(ref-3110-S14687767612000053000000).

Float Test
Ensure fuel tank is less than half full. Remove fuel fill cap to relieve pressure and reinstall cap. On Accord and Prelude, remove left rear inner fender. On Civic and S2000, remove fuel hose protector. Disconnect On-Board Refueling Vapor Recovery (ORVR) vapor recirculation hose and connect a vacuum pump to vapor recirculation hose. Plug vapor recirculation line. (Scheme 30)- (Scheme 37). Apply vacuum to ORVR vapor recirculation hose. If vacuum holds, replace ORVR vent shut valve. If vacuum does not hold, float is okay. Go to VALVE TEST.
Valve Test
- Ensure fuel tank is less than half full. Remove fuel fill cap to relieve pressure. On Accord and Prelude, remove left rear inner fender. On Civic and S2000, remove fuel hose protector. Disconnect ORVR signal hose. Disconnect and plug vacuum hoses from EVAP canister. Disconnect vacuum hose from EVAP canister vent shut valve. Connect a vacuum pump to hose. (Scheme 30)- (Scheme 37). Pump vacuum pump 80 times. If vacuum holds, go to next step. If vacuum does not hold, go to step 3.
- Connect a second vacuum pump to ORVR signal hose. (Scheme 30)- (Scheme 37). Pump vacuum pump one time only. If vacuum is released on first vacuum pump, ORVR is okay. If vacuum is not released, replace ORVR vent shut valve and retest.
- Disconnect ORVR quick disconnect from EVAP canister. Plug port on canister. Pump vacuum pump 80 times. If vacuum holds, replace ORVR vent shut valve. If vacuum does not hold, inspect EVAP canister vent shut valve "O" ring. If "O" ring is okay, replace EVAP canister and repeat step 1).
