  1. Remove bolt -1- and remove cover over coolant expansion tank (arrow).
  2. To release tension of poly V-belt, screw an M8 x 40 bolt (arrow) into bore on tensioning element. NOTE: Mark the rotation direction of the poly V-belt with chalk or a felt-tipped pen. If the belt runs in the opposite direction when it is reinstalled, breakage may result.
  3. Disconnect secondary air hose at position marked with an arrow.
  4. Move air hose clear.
  5. Remove fasteners -1...3- and remove sound insulation.
  6. Remove left sound insulation (arrows).
  7. Remove right sound insulation (arrows).
  8. Remove cross piece (arrows).
  9. Unbolt pulley for power steering pump (counterhold with mandrel).
  10. Remove bolts securing power steering pump to bracket (arrows). see scheme 386
  11. Hang power steering pump on lock carrier with hydraulic hoses -1- and -2- attached.
  12. Disconnect electrical connector -1- at Secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump motor -V101-. see scheme 387
  13. Move wire clear.
  14. Remove bracket -2- for coolant hose. see scheme 387
  15. Remove bracket -3- for secondary air pump air filter. see scheme 387
  16. Remove bolts -1 - and -2- and remove secondary air injection pump with bracket -A-.
  17. Disconnect electrical connector (arrow) at oil pressure switch using assembly tool T10118.
  18. Unscrew oil pressure switch.
  19. Connect oil pressure tester V.A.G 1342 with adapter V.A.G 1342/14 to bore for oil pressure switch.
  20. Screw oil pressure switch -2- into oil pressure tester V.A.G 1342.
