Gear selector assembly
The gear selector assembly and cable design is new for the M65. The gear selector assembly has a reverse inhibitor which prevents the driver from selecting reverse when vehicle speed is in excess of 25 km/h (16 mph). The solenoid is deactivated and reverse can be selected when vehicle speed is below 15 km/h (9 mph). Activation and deactivation of the solenoid is controlled by the central electrical module.
The transmission has two return springs (one in the transmission and one in the gear selector assembly). The lateral movement cable is adjustable.
Adjustment is located on the lever mounting on the transmission. The lengthways cable is fixed, exactly as on the M56. The cable sleeve is fastened to the gear selector assembly with a quick-release connector and to the transmission using a clip.
