Removal

Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

Disconnect the front oxygen (A/F) sensor connector.

Scheme 119

Lift up the vehicle.

Apply spray type lubricant to the threaded portion of front oxygen (A/F) sensor, and leave it for one minute or more.

Remove the front oxygen (A/F) sensor.

IMPORTANTWhen removing the oxygen (A/F) sensor, wait until exhaust pipe cools, otherwise it will damage exhaust pipe.

Installation

Before installing front oxygen (A/F) sensor, apply the anti-seize compound only to the threaded portion of front oxygen (A/F) sensor to make the next removal easier.

IMPORTANTNever apply anti-seize compound to protector of front oxygen (A/F) sensor.

Install the front oxygen (A/F) sensor.

Tightening torque

21 Nm (2.1 kgf-m, 15.2 ft-lb)

Lower the vehicle.

Connect the connector of front oxygen (A/F) sensor.

Connect the battery ground cable to battery.

Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

Disconnect the connector of rear oxygen sensor.

Note. Remove the harness clip from bracket.

Lift up the vehicle.

Apply spray type lubricant to the threaded portion of rear oxygen sensor, and leave it for one minute or more.

Remove the rear oxygen sensor.

Lower the vehicle.

Connect the connector to the rear oxygen sensor.

Note. Install the harness clip to bracket.

Connect the battery ground cable to battery.

Remove the lower inner trim of passenger side.

Detach the floor mat of front passenger seat.

Remove the protect cover.

Remove the nuts (A) which hold ECM to the bracket.

Remove the clip (B) from the bracket.

Disconnect the ECM connectors and take out the ECM.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

IMPORTANTWhen replacing the ECM, be careful not to use the wrong spec. ECM to avoid any damage on fuel injection system.

Tightening torque

5 Nm (0.5 kgf-m, 3.6 ft-lb)

Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

Remove the passenger's side front side sill cover.

Disconnect the connectors from the main relay.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

Disconnect the connector from fuel pump relay.
