How to Replace the Thermostat Opel Vivaro A

Remove

1. 1. Drain cooling system – see operation “Cooling System, Drain and Refill”
2. 2. Release resonance chamber (3) with ducting hose from air cleaner cover • Release strap (1) from support bracket (2) • Position resonance chamber (3) to one side

3. 3. Remove 2x coolant hose (4) from thermostat cover (3) • Release 2x clip (2)
4. 4. Remove thermostat cover (3) from thermostat housing • Remove 3x bolt (1)

5. 5. Remove thermostat (1) from thermostat cover (3) • Remove seal (2) • Clean mating surfaces

Install

6. 6. Install new thermostat (1) to thermostat cover (3) • Use new seal (2)

7. 7. Install thermostat and thermostat cover (3) to thermostat housing • Install 3x bolt (1)
8. 8. Install 2x coolant hose (4) to thermostat cover (3) • Secure 2x clip (2)

9. 9. Install resonance chamber (3) with ducting hose to air cleaner cover • Secure strap (1) to support bracket (2)

10. 10. Secure coolant hose (1) to support clip (2) of resonance chamber

11. 11. Bleed cooling system – see operation “Cooling System, Drain and Refill”
