How to Replace the Radiator Opel Vivaro A

Remove

1. 1. Disconnect battery negative lead
2. 2. Remove front grille panel • Remove 3x bolt (1) • Remove 2x bolt (arrowed) • Release 2x grommet

3. 3. Release radiator from 2x upper mount • Remove 2x bolt (1, 2)

4. 4. Raise vehicle
5. 5. Remove front splash shield • Remove 3x bolt (1)

6. 6. Release lower radiator hose (1) from cooling fan shroud (2) • Pull off

7. 7. Drain cooling system – see operation “Cooling System, Drain and Refill”
8. 8. Lower vehicle
9. 9. Disconnect upper coolant hose from radiator • Release clip (1) – Position hose to one side

10. 10. Raise vehicle
11. 11. Release harness from cooling fan shroud • Release clip
12. 12. Disconnect harness connector (1) from cooling fan resistor • Release integral clip

13. 13. Disconnect harness connector (1) from cooling fan motor • Release integral clip

14. 14. Remove cooling fan shroud from radiator • Release 2x upper clip (1) • Raise cooling fan shroud from 2x lower mount (2) • Position cooling fan shroud away from radiator, then lower cooling fan shroud

Note. Radiator and cooling fan shroud removed for clarity

15. 15. Remove air deflector (1) from radiator • Release integral clip

16. 16. Release radiator from support crossmember • Remove 2x clip (1), 2x washer

17. 17. Release air conditioning condenser (if installed) from radiator • Release 2x lower clip (1) • Apply upward pressure to air conditioning condenser to release 2x upper clip (2), then position air conditioning condenser away from radiator – Do not disconnect pipes

18. 18. Remove radiator from support crossmember • Apply upward pressure to radiator and position away from support crossmember • Lower radiator towards transmission

Install

19. 19. Transfer rubber mountings to new radiator
20. 20. Install radiator to support crossmember • Raise radiator and locate to 2x mounting on lower crossmember
21. 21. Secure air conditioning condenser (if installed) to radiator • Align air conditioning condenser to radiator and secure 2x upper clip (2) • Secure 2x lower clip (1)

22. 22. Secure radiator to support crossmember • Install 2x washer, 2x clip (1)

23. 23. Install air deflector (1) to radiator • Secure integral clip

24. 24. Install cooling fan shroud to radiator • Raise cooling fan shroud • Lower cooling fan shroud into 2x lower mount (2) • Secure 2x upper clip (1)

25. 25. Secure lower radiator hose (1) to cooling fan shroud (2) • Push fit

26. 26. Secure harness to cooling fan shroud • Secure clip
27. 27. Connect harness connector (1) to cooling fan motor • Secure integral clip

28. 28. Connect harness connector (1) to cooling fan resistor • Secure integral clip

29. 29. Connect lower coolant hose to radiator • Secure clip (1)

30. 30. Install front splash shield • Secure 3x bolt (1) 6 Nm

31. 31. Lower vehicle
32. 32. Secure radiator to 2x upper mount • Install 2x bolt (1, 2)

33. 33. Connect upper coolant hose to radiator • Secure clip (1)

34. 34. Install front grille panel • Install 3x bolt (1) • Install 2x bolt (arrowed) • Secure 2x grommet

35. 35. Connect battery negative lead
36. 36. Program all volatile memories
37. 37. Bleed cooling system – see operation “Cooling System, Drain and Refill”
