How to Replace the Coolant Heater (Electrical) Opel Vivaro A

Remove

  1. 1. Remove cap from coolant expansion tank
  1. 2. Remove engine cover – see operation “Engine Cover, Remove and Install”
  2. 3. Disconnect 4x harness connector (1) from coolant heater • Pull off
  3. 4. Disconnect 2x coolant hose from coolant heater • Release 2x clip (3) • Install 4x suitable blanking plug

Note. Collect any escaping coolant. The blanking plugs are installed to minimise coolant loss.

  1. 5. Release harness from support bracket of coolant heater • Release from clip (2)
  1. 6. Release support bracket of coolant heater from rear lifting eye • Remove nut, bolt (1)
  1. 7. Remove support bracket of coolant heater from front lifting eye • Remove 2x nut (1)
  1. 8. Remove coolant heater from support bracket • Remove 2x bolt

Install

  1. 9. Install new coolant heater to support bracket • Install 2x bolt
  2. 10. Install support bracket of coolant heater to front lifting eye • Install 2x nut (1)
  1. 11. Secure support bracket of coolant heater to rear lifting eye • Install bolt, nut (1)
  1. 12. Secure harness to support bracket of coolant heater • Secure to clip (2)
  2. 13. Connect 2x coolant hose to coolant heater • Remove 2x blanking plug • Secure 2x clip (3)
  3. 14. Connect 4x harness connector (1) to coolant heater • Push on
  1. 15. Install engine cover – see operation “Engine Cover, Remove and Install”
  2. 16. Top-up coolant expansion tank to correct level
