For Model Year 1995«, a new turbodiesel engine and two new petrol engines are introduced.
The X 22 XE, family II, 2.2 litre, DOHC petrol engine is available in 5-door models. The X 20 SE family 11, 2.0 litre, OHC petrol engine is available in 3-door models. The 4JB IT, 2.8 litre, turbocharged, intercooled diesel engine is available in both 3-door and 5-door models.
`Easy see' yellow caps and identification labels are introduced to identify the underbonnet maintenance location of:
- Engine oil dip stick handle.
- Engine oil filler cap.
- Coolant expansion tank cap.
