DIESEL CUT. S.

Conditions for CheckingNominal Value

Affected terminals: -

Possible trouble codes: -

Only diesel engines

Not used in Frontera MY 95

Note:

In vehicles with diesel engines without electronic engine management systems, the fuel cutoff solenoid valve is actuated by the immobiliser control unit. The fuel cutoff solenoid valve is capable of receiving and evaluating the imo signal sent by the immobiliser control unit, i.e. a code stored in the electronics/ memory of the fuel cutoff solenoid valve is compared with the received imo signal. This code must be reprogrammed when the immobiliser control unit is replaced or a different fuel cutoff solenoid valve is installed in the vehicle. As the electronics of the fuel cutoff solenoid valve is not capable of diagnosis (i.e. cannot be connected to diagnostic tester), it is programmed via the immobiliser control unit.

Press key F7 in the system main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES. Follow the instructions in the diagnostic tester display.

Ignition OFF

Ignition ON

Wait 10 s

Important:

Note:

A counter appears at the lower left corner of the diagnostic tester display, indicating the number of operations remaining. Once the 10 operations are completed, the fuel cutoff solenoid valve is quickly switched open and closed several times consecutively. This causes a rattling noise in the engine compartment. This noise indicates that the imo signal can now be programmed into the electronics/ memory of the fuel cutoff solenoid valve. To programme the imo signal, the procedure described above must be repeated once again.

If the display on the right appears, programming was successful.

PROGRAMMING

COMPLETED!

If the display on the right appears, a fault has occurred during programming.

Note:

At the time of installation, new fuel cutoff solenoid valves are in delivery status. When the imo signal is transferred from the immobiliser control unit with the ignition ON, this code is written in the electronics / memory of the fuel cutoff solenoid valve. The solenoid valve then enters the operating condition.DEISEL CUT. S.
