Function Description
· The compressor clutch Y1 is activated under the following conditions:
- The engine is running;
- The AC switch S101 is "ON";
- The blower switch S24 is turned to position "1" or higher;
- The electronic thermostat P41 enables ground for the compressor relay K6;
- The coolant temperature switch S29 disables ground for the cut - off relay K60 (23DTR only).
· The pressure switches S27 / S28 deactivates the magnetic clutch Y1 if the pressure in the high pressure side of the air conditioning system falls below 180 kPa (1.8 bar) or raises above 2940 kPa (29 bar).
· The electronic thermostat P41 controls the temperature of the air running through the evaporator by switching off / on the compressor clutch:
If the temperature behind the evaporator falls below 3.5 °C / 38 °F, the compressor relay K6 switches the compressor clutch off.
If the temperature behind the evaporator raises above 5.0 °C / 41 °F, the compressor relay K6 switches the compressor clutch on again.
· A fast idle is obtained by the motronic control unit K61 when the compressor clutch Y1 has been activated (C24NE only).
