Air Conditioning ~231 words

Performance Test

The performance test is used to determine whether the mechanical function of the air conditioning system meets the specifications.

The nominal values for the temperature of the output air, for the low pressure and high pressure at a certain ambient temperature and an engine speed of 1500 rpm are given in the tables on page 16 and 17.

When performing the performance test the measured values can be compared with the nominal values in this table.

Possible causes of any deviation are given in the tables in paragraph 3.3.

Performance data on C24NE and 23 DTR are not available.

· Connect Service Station to high and low pressure service connections.

1 = High pressure service connection

2 = Low pressure service connection

Important:

Hoses must not come into contact with the exhaust manifold or rotating parts of the engine.

The following conditions must be observed:

· Close windows and doors, lower bonnet carefully.

· Start engine and switch on air conditioning.

· Temperature control lever "COLD", air distribution lever "face level".

· Blower switch in position "4", air source select lever to the right ("outside air").

· Allow engine to run at idle speed for 15 minutes.

· After 15 minutes get in and set engine speed to 1500 rpm for 5 minutes.

Measure ambient temperature and temperature at vent nozzles using Gauge MKM - 596 and compare with performance data.

After performance test, allow vehicle to cool before disconnecting hoses.
