Injection Pump Timing Check and Adjust Opel Campo I

Timing Gauge KM-29763 – to install Timing Gauge remove head plug from injection pump.

Depress probe of Timing Gauge inward approx. 2 mm.

Rotate crankshaft to 30° - 40° before top dead centre set Timing Gauge to zero.

Rotate crankshaft pulley slightly in both directions to check Timing Gauge indication is stable.

Rotate crankshaft pulley clockwise then check that Timing Gauge indicates 0.5 mm when appropriate timing mark is aligned with pointer on front cover.

If Timing Gauge indication is incorrect adjust mounting angle of injection pump.

Loosen nut and adjusting bolts (1) of injection pump. Rotate pump as necessary clockwise to advance counter-clockwise to retard.

Tighten pump adjusting bolt - 19 Nm.

Head plug to injection pump - 17 Nm new copper washer.
