Pinion Ejection, Check

Starter - see corresponding operation.

Nut and cable from starter terminal of solenoid switch.

Pull out test.

Connect solenoid switch to battery - negative cable to body of solenoid switch

and to starter terminal stud; positive cable to spade terminal.

Coil is satisfactory if pinion ejects.

Hold in test.

Pinion should remain ejected when negative cable is disconnected from starter

terminal stud.

Return test.

Disconnect positive cable. Pinion should return immediately when positive cable is
