AIR CLEANER INTAKE PIPE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 2.5L

  1. Remove the battery tray. See «BATTERY TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-348661-S24681863762009112700000) .
  2. Remove the bolt and the intake pipe. To install, tighten to 8 N.m {0.8 kg. m, 71 in. lb.}.
  3. To install, reverse the removal procedure. NOTE: Make sure that the front sponge seal of the intake pipe is seated on the shroud panel.

AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 2.5L

  1. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) electrical connector and the wiring harness retainer.
  2. Disconnect the crankcase vent tube from the air cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe.
  3. If equipped, disconnect the vacuum tube from the ACL outlet pipe.
  4. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the ACL outlet pipe from the throttle body. To install, tighten to 4 N.m {0.4 kg. m, 35 in. lb.}.
  5. Remove the ACL assembly bolt. To install, tighten to 8 N.m {0.8 kg. m, 71 in. lb.}.
  6. Release the 2 ACL feet from the rubber grommets. Remove the ACL and outlet pipe assembly. NOTE: No tools are needed to remove the ACL assembly. Removal should be carried out using hands only.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure. NOTE: Make sure that the 2 ACL feet are seated into the rubber grommets under the ACL assembly. NOTE: The ACL outlet pipe should be securely sealed to prevent unmetered air from entering the engine.

AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 2.5L

  1. Disconnect the crankcase vent tube from the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe.
  2. If equipped, disconnect the vacuum tube from the ACL outlet pipe.
  3. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector and the wiring harness retainer.
  4. Loosen the 2 clamps and remove the ACL outlet pipe. To install, tighten to 4 N.m {0.4 kg. m, 35 in. lb.}.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure. NOTE: The ACL outlet pipe should be securely sealed to prevent unmetered air from entering the engine.

Scheme 1: THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 2.5L

CAUTIONAlways disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an evaporative emission (EVAP) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe. See «FUEL RAIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 2.5L»(ref-348657-S37888534662009112700000) .
  3. Disconnect the electrical throttle control electrical connector.
  4. Remove the 4 bolts and the Throttle Body (TB). Discard the TB gasket. To install, tighten to 10 N.m {1.0 kg. m, 89 in. lb.}.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Install a new TB gasket.

Scheme 2

Scheme 2: ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 2.5L
  1. Disconnect the accelerator pedal electrical connector.
  2. Remove the 3 bolts and the accelerator pedal and sensor assembly. To install, tighten to 7 N.m {7.0 kg. m, 62 in. lb.}.
  3. To install, reverse the removal procedure. NOTE: The accelerator pedal bracket and bolts on the 2.5L and 3.0L vehicles are similar but not interchangeable with the 2.5L Hybrid vehicles.
