- GENERAL The remote engine starter allows starting or stopping engine from outside the vehicle by using the key, so there is no need to carry around an extra remote. In addition, the remote engine starter is linked with the air conditioning system and window defogger system.
OPERATION CHECK [03/2012 - ]
- REMOTE ENGINE START FUNCTION NOTE: The operation distance varies according to how customers hold the transmitter or where it is used. Strong external radio waves or other frequency noise may interfere with the remote engine start operation distance. Turn the transmitter toward the vehicle, and press and release the lock switch twice within 2 seconds. Immediately press and hold the lock switch for 3 seconds, then the engine starts and the hazard lights flash after 3 seconds. After that, the hazard lights continue flashing for 20 seconds. HINT: The engine starts by remote engine start when all of the following conditions are met: The shift lever is in P. All doors are closed. All doors are locked. The engine hood is closed. The engine switch is off. The engine speed is not input. Vehicle speed is not input. Brake pedal is not depressed. The alarm is not sounding.
- REMOTE ENGINE STOP FUNCTION Press the unlock switch while the engine is running. After that, the engine stops and the hazard lights flash twice. Press and hold the lock switch for 2 or more seconds. After that, the engine will stop and the hazard lights will flash once. HINT: The engine will stop when any of the following conditions is met: 10 minutes elapse after the engine is started. The shift lever is moved from P. Any door is opened. Any door is unlocked. The engine hood is opened. The engine switch is turned on (ACC or IG). The engine speed is less than 200 RPM. Vehicle speed is input. Brake pedal is depressed. The alarm is sounding.
DESCRIPTION
When the remote engine starter ECU receives wireless signals via CAN and LIN communication, the remote engine starter ECU transmits the signals to each ECU through the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via the CAN communication line, and starts or stops the engine.

If all of the following conditions are met, the engine starts using the remote engine start function.
- The shift lever is in P.
- All doors are closed.
- All doors are locked.
- The engine hood is closed.
- The engine switch is off.
- Engine speed is not input.
- Vehicle speed is not input.
- Brake pedal is not depressed.
- The alarm is not sounding.
