Note. DTC B1279 sets when there is no communication from rain sensor ECU for more than 10 seconds.

  1. Check auto wiper system. If auto wiper system operates, go to next step. If auto wiper system does not operate, replace rain sensor.
  2. Disconnect rain sensor 3-pin connector. (Scheme 22) Disconnect overhead junction block 32-pin connector. see scheme 15 Check continuity in Pink/Blue wire between rain sensor connector terminal No. 2 and overhead junction block connector terminal No. 30. Repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace rain sensor.
