INSTALLATION

  1. INSTALL ACTIVE CONTROL ENGINE MOUNT Install the acceleration sensor with the 2 nuts. Torque: 8.0 N*m (81 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) Install the active control engine mount with the 3 nuts. Torque: 52 N*m (530 kgf*cm, 38 ft.*lbf)
  2. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET FR Install the engine mounting bracket FR with the 4 bolts. Automatic Transaxle Side Torque: 64 N*m (653 kgf*cm, 47 ft.*lbf) Active Engine Mounting Side Torque: 87 N*m (887 kgf*cm, 64 ft.*lbf) Connect the earth cable with the bolt. Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf) Connect the 2 connectors and clamp.

  6. REMOVE ECM Remove the 3 nuts. Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors and remove the ECM. Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the 2 levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors. NOTE: After disconnecting the connector, make sure that dirt, water and other foreign matter do not contact the connecting part of the connector. Remove the ECM. Remove the 4 screws and 2 ECM brackets.

  1. INSTALL ECM Install the ECM bracket with the 4 screws. Torque: 3.0 N*m (31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf) Connect the 2 ECM connectors. NOTE: When connecting the connector, make sure that dirt, water and other foreign matter do not become stuck between the connector and other parts. Connect the 2 ECM connectors and lower the 2 levers. NOTE: Make sure that the 2 levers are securely lowered. Install the ECM with the 3 nuts. Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)

  1. INSPECT CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals. Standard resistance Condition Specified Condition Cold 1,630 to 2,740 ohms Hot 2,065 to 3,225 ohms NOTE: The terms "cold" and "hot" refer to the temperature of the coils. "Cold" means approximately -10 to 50°C (14 to 122°F). "Hot" means approximately 50 to 100°C (122 to 212°F). If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.

  1. INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR Measure the resistance between the terminals. Standard resistance Condition Specified Condition Approx. 20°C (68°F) 2.32 to 2.59 kohms Approx. 80°C (176°F) 0.31 to 0.326 kohms If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor. NOTE: If checking the ECT sensor in the water, keep the terminals dry. After checking, dry the sensor.

  1. INSPECT KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals. Standard resistance 120 to 280 kohms at 20°C (68°F) If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor.
