Active Control Engine Mount System (Diagnostics - Introduction): Overview Lexus ES XV40 facelift

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

The active mount control system consists of an ECU, actuator, and acceleration sensor. The ECU drives the actuator to generate vibration that is opposite to the engine vibration. As a result, engine vibration is reduced. There is the idle mode that reduces vibration and booming noise while idling.

  1. Active Control Engine Mount ECU The ECU receives information through CAN communication and serial communication and uses the information to control the active control mount. If a malfunction occurs in the active mount control system, the ECU will store this DTC and stop controlling the active mount control. Information received through CAN communication: Engine driving flag Engine load ratio Engine coolant temperature Shift position Vehicle speed data Outside air temperature Information received through serial communication: Engine speed Acceleration sensor signal
  1. Active mount control actuator The active mount control actuator is built into the front engine mount and is composed of a vibration plate solenoid actuator.
  1. Acceleration sensor The acceleration sensor is installed on the front engine mount to detect vibration of the vehicle.
