Note. Before performing any diagnostic test, refer toWARNINGS, CAUTIONS and NOTES in DIAGNOSTIC TESTS .

Note. Testing individual components does not isolate shorts or opens. Perform all voltage tests using a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter Meter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless stated otherwise in test procedure. Use ohmmeter to isolate wiring harness shorts or opens.

Diagnostic Aids

Lambda controller block on minimum or maximum limit. Check for following possible problems

1. Fuel system malfunction (fuel tank, pressure regulator, fuel pump, Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV).
2. Poor connection to fuel line hose/sealing/cut.
3. Sealing between PCSV and fuel tank.
4. Air leak in exhaust system.
5. Ignition system malfunction (ignition coil, spark plug, spark plug cable).
6. Faulty surge tank and intake port.
