Inspection and Verification
- Verify the customer concern by operating the system.

- If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
- If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to «Symptom chart»(ref-311063-S14388928522009032300000) .

- Remove the left-hand engine mount. Refer to «Engine»(ref-311051) article.
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube retaining bracket.
- Remove the transmission heat shield.
- Detach the transmission fluid cooler tubes. Remove the retaining bolt. Remove the retaining plate. CAUTION: Make sure the transmission fluid cooler tubes are not removed from the automatic transmission by using a pry bar. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle. Detach the transmission fluid cooler tubes. Allow the transmission fluid to drain into a suitable container.
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler return tube. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
