- P0102 - MAF Sensor Circuit Low Input
- P0103 - MAF Sensor Circuit High Input
- Install scan tool. Start engine and check if DTC P0102 or P0103 is present. If DTC is present, go to next step. If DTC is not present, problem is intermittent. Check for disconnected air duct or clogged air filter.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect MAF sensor harness connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between sensor harness connector terminal No. 2 and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check circuit between harness connector terminal No. 2 and SFI relay. See appropriate wiring diagram in «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-16576-S33969347622000122900000) section.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM harness connector. Check for open or short in circuit between sensor harness connector terminal No. 1 and ground. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit is open or shorted, repair circuit between MAF sensor and ECM.
- Check for continuity between MAF harness connector terminal No. 3 and ground. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, check circuit between MAF sensor harness connector and ECM.
- Check for continuity between MAF harness connector terminal No. 4 and ground. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, check circuit between MAF sensor and ground.
- Reconnect MAF sensor and ECM. Using a DVOM connected to ground, backprobe ECM harness connector terminal No. 41. Start engine. With engine at 800 RPM, voltage reading should be .7-1.1 volts. With engine at 3000 RPM, voltage reading should be 1.3-2.0 volts. If voltage readings are specified, go to next step. If voltage readings are not as specified, replace MAF sensor.
- Clear DTC. See «CLEARING DTC(S)»(ref-16576-S07254658492000122900000) . Retest system. If DTC resets, replace ECM.
