DTC P0335/P0336 - CKP SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE/MALFUNCTION Hyundai Accent I

  1. P0335 - CKP Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  2. P0336 - CKP Sensor Circuit Range
  1. Install scan tool. Start engine and check if DTC P0335 or P0336 is present. If DTC is present, go to next step. If DTC is not present, problem is intermittent.
  2. Disconnect ECM harness connector. Check for continuity between ECM harness connector terminal No. 43 and CKP sensor harness connector terminal No. 2. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair circuit between CKP sensor and ECM harness connector terminals. See appropriate wiring diagram in «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-16576-S33969347622000122900000) section.
  3. Connect DVOM between CKP harness connector terminal No. 3 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 16. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair circuit as necessary.
  4. Reconnect ECM harness connector. Check for continuity between CKP sensor harness connector terminal No. 1 and chassis ground. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, check circuit to ground.
  5. Check resistance between CKP sensor terminals No. 2 and 3. Resistance should be 486-594 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, replace CKP sensor. If resistance is as specified, go to next step.
  6. Check clearance between CKP sensor and sensor wheel. Clearance should be .020-.059 inches. Adjust as necessary. Reconnect CKP sensor harness connector. Clear DTC. See «CLEARING DTC(S)»(ref-16576-S07254658492000122900000) . Retest system. If DTC resets, replace ECM.
