CMP Sensor A Replacement

Note. CMP sensor A is on the intake side of the cylinder head.

Scheme 262: CMP Sensor A Replacement
  1. Remove the air cleaner (see «AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REPLACEMENT»(ref-171389-S27353894402005020300000) ).
  2. Disconnect the CMP sensor A 3P connector.
  3. Remove CMP sensor A (A) from the intake camshaft side of the cylinder head.
  4. Install the sensor in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring (B).

  1. Disconnect the VTEC solenoid valve 2P connector.
  2. Measure resistance between VTEC solenoid valve 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2. Resistance: 14-30 ohm
  3. If the resistance is within specifications, remove the VTEC solenoid valve assembly (A) from the cylinder head, and check the VTEC solenoid valve filter (B) for clogging. If it is clogged, replace the solenoid valve filter, the engine oil filter, and the engine oil.
