DTC P0341: VTC Phase Gap Honda CR-V II

Testing & Diagnostics ~199 words

Reset the ECM/PCM (see «HOW TO RESET THE ECM/PCM»(ref-171385-S07999163522005020300000) ).
Start the engine. Is DTC P0341 indicated? YES - Go to step 3. NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at CMP sensor A and at the ECM/PCM.
Check the VTC oil control solenoid valve (see «VTC Oil Control Solenoid Valve Removal/Test/Installation»(ref-171387-S10192246882005020300000) ). Is the VTC oil control solenoid valve OK? YES - Go to step 4. NO - Clean the VTC oil control solenoid valve, or replace it (see «VTC Oil Control Solenoid Valve Removal/Test/Installation»(ref-171387-S10192246882005020300000) ).
Remove the head cover, and check the cam chain (see «CAM CHAIN REMOVAL»(ref-171634-S36284786962005021000000) ). Is the cam chain OK? YES - Go to step 5. NO - Replace the cam chain (see «CAM CHAIN REMOVAL»(ref-171634-S36284786962005021000000) ).
Check the VTC actuator (see «VTC ACTUATOR INSPECTION»(ref-171634-S14030887922005021000000) ). Is the VTC actuator OK? YES - Update the ECM/PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good ECM/PCM, then recheck (see «ECM/PCM UPDATING AND SUBSTITUTION FOR TESTING»(ref-171385-S32387647222005020300000) ). If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good ECM/PCM, replace the original ECM/PCM. NO - Replace the VTC actuator.
