DTC P1607 - PCM INTERNAL CIRCUIT Honda Civic VI

Perform PCM reset procedure. See Self Diagnostic section. Turn ignition on and wait 10 seconds. If DTC P1607 is not indicated, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. If DTC P1607 is indicated, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck. If symptom or problem goes away, replace original PCM.

  1. Perform PCM reset procedure. See Self Diagnostic section. Drive vehicle for several miles at various speeds ensuring transmission upshifts and downshifts several times. If DTC P1655 is indicated, go to next step. If DTC P1655 is not indicated, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. Check for poor connections or loose wires between Transmission Control Module (TCM) and PCM. TCM is located behind driver's side kick panel. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-16355) article.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM 31-pin connector "C". see scheme 3 See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-16355) article. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and PCM 31-pin connector "C" terminal C9 (Gray wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 4). If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Measure voltage between ground and TCM 22-pin connector "B" terminal B7 (Gray wire). (Scheme 37) If battery voltage exists, repair open in Gray wire between PCM 31-pin connector "C" terminal C9 and TCM 22-pin connector "B" terminal B7. If battery voltage does not exist, repair short in Gray wire between PCM and TCM.
  4. Turn ignition off. Reconnect PCM 31-pin connector "C". Disconnect TCM 22-pin connector "B". Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and TCM 22-pin harness connector "B" terminal B6 (Pink wire). See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-16355) article. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, substitute a known good PCM, then recheck. If symptom or indication goes away, replace original PCM.
  5. Measure voltage between ground and PCM 31-pin connector "C" terminal C30 (Pink wire). If battery voltage exists, repair open in Pink wire between PCM 31-pin connector "C" terminal C30 and TCM 22-pin connector "B" terminal B6. If battery voltage does not exist, repair short in Pink wire between PCM and TCM. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-16355) article.
