DTC P0122 - THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR Honda Accord V

  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check TP sensor. If reading is approximately 10% at idle and 90% at Wide Open Throttle (WOT), problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. Check for poor connections or loose wires at 14-pin connector (located on right shock tower), TP sensor connector, and ECM connector. (Схема №6)
  2. If reading is not approximately 10% at idle and 90% at Wide Open Throttle (WOT), turn ignition off. Disconnect TP sensor connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between TP sensor connector terminals No. 1 (Green/Blue wire) and No. 3 (Yellow/Blue wire). If reading is approximately 5 volts, go to next step. If reading is not approximately 5 volts, measure voltage between ECM connector terminals D21 and D22. If reading is approximately 5 volts, repair open in Yellow/Blue wire between ECM connector terminal D21 and TP sensor terminal No. 3. If reading is not approximately 5 volts, substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. If symptom or indication goes away, replace original ECM.
  3. Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between TP sensor terminals No. 1 (Green/Blue wire) and No. 2 (Red/Black wire) with throttle closed. If resistance is not approximately 900 ohms, replace TP sensor. If resistance is approximately 900 ohms, measure resistance between TP sensor terminals No. 2 (Red/Black wire) and No. 3 (Yellow/Blue wire) with closed throttle. If resistance is not approximately 5000 ohms, replace TP sensor. If resistance is approximately 5000 ohms, reconnect TP sensor.
  4. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ECM connector terminals D6 and D22. If voltage is approximately.5 volt with throttle closed and 4.5 volts at WOT, substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. If symptom or indication goes away, replace original ECM. If voltage is not approximately.5 volt with throttle closed and 4.5 volts at WOT, turn ignition off. Disconnect TCM connectors.
  5. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ECM connector terminals D6 and D22. If voltage is approximately.5 volt with throttle closed and 4.5 volts at WOT, replace Transmission Control Module (TCM). If voltage is not approximately.5 volt with throttle closed and 4.5 volts at WOT, repair short in Red/Black wire between ECM connector terminal D6, TCM connector, and TP sensor connector.
