APIM DTC FAULT TRIGGER CONDITIONS
Clean and make sure the rear video camera lens is clear of any debris.
PINPOINT TEST B: POOR IMAGE QUALITY
Note. Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
Note. Failure to disconnect the battery when instructed results in false resistance readings. Refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .

- B1 CHECK THE VIDEO (+) AND (-) SIGNAL CIRCUITS INTEGRITY Ignition OFF. Disconnect: APIM C2383. Measure the resistance between: Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C2383-14 VMP31 (BU) C2383-15 RMP31 (GN) Is the resistance between 74 and 106 ohms? Yes : GO to B6 . No : GO to B2.
- B2 CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA (+) AND (-) SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND Disconnect: Video Camera C4357. Measure the resistance between: Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C4357-4 VMP31 (BU) - Ground C4357-3 RMP31 (GN) - Ground Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms? Yes : GO to B3. No : REPAIR the affected circuit.
- B3 CHECK THE VIDEO CAMERA VIDEO (+) AND (-) SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VIDEO SHIELD Measure the resistance between: Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C4357-4 VMP31 (BU) C4357-6 DMP31 C4357-3 RMP31 (GN) C4357-6 DMP31 Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms? Yes : GO to B4. No : REPAIR the affected circuit.
- B4 CHECK VIDEO (+) AND (-) SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN Ignition OFF. Connect a fused jumper wire between: Lead 1 Lead 2 Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C4357-4 VMP31 (BU) C4357-6 DMP31 Measure the resistance between: Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C2383-14 VMP31 (BU) C2383-15 RMP31 (GN) Is the resistance less than 3 ohms? Yes : REMOVE the jumper wire. GO to B6 . No : REMOVE the jumper wire. GO to B5.
- B5 CHECK VIDEO (+) SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Measure the resistance between: Positive Lead Negative Lead Pin Circuit Pin Circuit C4357-4 VMP31 (BU) C2383-14 VMP31 (BU) Is the resistance less than 3 ohms? Yes : REPAIR circuit RMP31. No : REPAIR circuit VMP31.
- B6 CHECK FOR CORRECT VIDEO CAMERA OPERATION Disconnect and inspect the video camera connector. Repair: corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins) damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary Reconnect the video camera connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes : CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new video camera. REFER to «VIDEO CAMERA»(ref-569641-S31124857932013072700000) . No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
Verify that the visual parking aid is enabled in the FDIM.
PINPOINT TEST C: VISUAL PARKING AID IS INOPERATIVE
- C1 CHECK THE DTCs FROM THE PAM SELF-TEST Using a scan tool, perform PAM self-test. Are any PAM DTCs recorded? Yes : REPAIR all PAM DTCs first. REFER to «PARKING AID - AUDIBLE»(ref-569603) . No : GO to C2.
- C2 CHECK THE DTCs FROM THE IPM-B SELF-TEST Using a scan tool, perform IPM-B self-test. Are any IPM-B DTCs recorded? Yes : REFER to the «IPM-B DTC Chart»(ref-569641-S00398840352013082100000) . No : GO to C3.
- C3 CHECK FOR CORRECT VIDEO CAMERA OPERATION Disconnect and inspect the video camera connector. Repair: corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins) damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary Reconnect the video camera connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes : CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new video camera. REFER to «VIDEO CAMERA»(ref-569641-S31124857932013072700000) . No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
- Enable the inoperative video camera feature in the FDIM
- Verify the rear liftgate is fully closed
- Verify that a trailer is not connected to the vehicle

PINPOINT TEST D: THE VIDEO DELAY OR GUIDELINES ARE INOPERATIVE
- D1 PERFORM A NETWORK TEST Ignition ON. Using a scan tool, perform a network test. Do all modules pass the network test? Yes : GO to D2. No : REFER to «MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK»(ref-569552) .
- D2 RETRIEVE THE DTCs FROM ALL MODULES Using a scan tool, retrieve the DTCs from the all modules. Are any DTCs present in the IPM-B, BCM, Trailer Module (TRM), SASM or APIM? Yes : For IPM-B or APIM DTCs, REFER to «DTC CHARTS»(ref-569641-S07689115492013072700000) . For BCM DTCs, REFER to «MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES»(ref-569586) . For SASM DTCs, REFER to «ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) AND STABILITY CONTROL»(ref-569593) . For Trailer Module (TRM) DTCs, REFER to «EXTERIOR LIGHTING»(ref-569589) . No : GO to D3.
- D3 VERIFY AND ENABLE THE INOPERATIVE VIDEO CAMERA FEATURE Identify the inoperative video camera feature (fixed guidelines, active guidelines or delay). Verify and enable the inoperative video camera feature within the FDIM. Does the video camera feature operate correctly? Yes : The video camera system is operating correctly at this time. The video camera feature concern was caused by the feature being disabled. INSTRUCT the customer on how to enable the video camera features. REFER to the Owner's Literature. No : For video delay concerns, GO to D6 . For guideline concerns, GO to D4.
- D4 CHECK THE REAR LIFTGATE AJAR PID Using a scan tool, monitor the BCM PID DOOR_SW_LUGG. While monitoring the PID, open and close the rear liftgate. Does the PID agree with the rear liftgate position? Yes : GO to D5. No : REFER to «INSTRUMENTATION, MESSAGE CENTER, AND WARNING CHIMES»(ref-569587) .
- D5 ISOLATE THE VIDEO CAMERA INSTALL a new video camera. REFER to «VIDEO CAMERA»(ref-569641-S31124857932013072700000) . Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes : GO to D7 . No : The concern was caused by an inoperative rear video camera. The system is now operating correctly.
- D6 CHECK FOR CORRECT APIM OPERATION Disconnect and inspect the APIM connector. Repair: corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins) damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary Reconnect the APIM connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes : CHECKOASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new APIM. Refer to the appropriate INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM for the procedure. No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
- D7 CHECK FOR CORRECT IPM-B OPERATION Disconnect and inspect the IPM-B connector. Repair: corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins) damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary Reconnect the IPM-B connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes : CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new IPM-B. REFER to «IMAGE PROCESSING MODULE-B (IPM-B)»(ref-569641-S02116762292013072700000) . No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. PINPOINT TEST E: DTC U0155:87
- E1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN Ignition ON. Verify that there is an observable symptom present. Is an observable symptom present? Yes : GO to E2. No : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- E2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK Ignition ON. Using a scan tool, perform the network test. Does the IPC pass the network test? Yes : GO to E3. No : REFER to «MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK»(ref-569552) , The IPC Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
- E3 RECHECK THE IPM-B DTCs Using a scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate the system and test the system for normal operation. Using a scan tool, repeat IPM-B self-test. Is DTC U0155:87 still present? Yes : GO to E4. No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- E4 CHECK FOR BATTERY VOLTAGE OUT OF RANGE DTCs Using a scan tool, retrieve continuous memory DTCs from all modules. Is DTC U3006:16 or U3006:17 set in the IPM-B? Yes : For DTC U3006:16, GO to «PINPOINT TEST F»(ref-569641-S25187120132013072700000) . For DTC U3006:17, GO to «PINPOINT TEST G»(ref-569641-S20604009312013072700000) . No : GO to E5.
- E5 CHECK FOR DTC U0155:00 OR DTC U0155:87 IN OTHER MODULES Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs. Ignition OFF. Ignition ON. Wait 10 seconds. Using a scan tool, retrieve continuous memory DTCs from all modules. Is DTC U0155:00 or DTC U0155:87 set in any module? Yes : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to «INSTRUMENTATION, MESSAGE CENTER, AND WARNING CHIMES»(ref-569587) . No : GO to E6.
- E6 CHECK FOR CORRECT IPM-B OPERATION Disconnect and inspect the IPM-B connector. Repair: corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins) damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary Reconnect the IPM-B connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes : CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new IPM-B. REFER to «IMAGE PROCESSING MODULE-B (IPM-B)»(ref-569641-S02116762292013072700000) . No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
PINPOINT TEST G: DTC U3006:17
- G1 CHECK FOR HIGH VOLTAGE DTCs SET IN OTHER MODULES Ignition ON. Using a scan tool, retrieve all continuous DTCs from all modules. Are high voltage DTCs (eg., U3006:17, U3006:17, P0563) set in more than one module? Yes : REFER to «CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-569572) . No : GO to G2.
- G2 CHECK THE BATTERY VOLTAGE Turn off all interior/exterior lights and accessories. Start and run the engine at approximately 2, 000 rpm for 3 minutes while monitoring the battery voltage. Does the battery voltage rise to 15.5 volts or higher? Yes : REFER to «CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-569572) . No : GO to G3.
- G3 RECHECK FOR DTCs U3006:17 Turn the engine OFF. Ignition ON. Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs. Using a scan tool, perform the IPM-B self-test. Is DTC U3006:17 present? Yes : GO to G4. No : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set previously during battery charging or while jump starting the vehicle.
- G4 CHECK FOR CORRECT IPM-B OPERATION Disconnect and inspect the IPM-B connector. Repair: corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins) damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary Reconnect the IPM-B connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes : CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new IPM-B. REFER to «IMAGE PROCESSING MODULE-B (IPM-B)»(ref-569641-S02116762292013072700000) . No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
PINPOINT TEST H: DTC U0140:87
- H1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN Ignition ON. Verify that there is an observable symptom present. Is an observable symptom present? Yes : GO to H2. No : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- H2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK Ignition ON. Using a scan tool, perform the network test. Does the BCM pass the network test? Yes : GO to H3. No : REFER to «MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK»(ref-569552) , The BCM Does Not Communicate With The Scan Tool.
- H3 RECHECK THE IPM-B DTCs Clear the DTCs. Operate the system and test the system for normal operation. Repeat the IPM-B self-test. Is DTC U0140:87 still present? Yes : GO to H4. No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- H4 CHECK FOR DTC U0140:00 OR DTC U0140:87 IN OTHER MODULES Clear all DTCs. Ignition OFF. Ignition ON. Wait 10 seconds. Using a scan tool, retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules. Is DTC U0140:00 or DTC U0140:87 set in any module? Yes : INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to «MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES»(ref-569586) . No : GO to H5.
- H5 CHECK FOR CORRECT IPM-B OPERATION Disconnect and inspect the IPM-B connector. Repair: corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins) damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary Reconnect the IPM-B connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes : CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new IPM-B. REFER to «IMAGE PROCESSING MODULE-B (IPM-B)»(ref-569641-S02116762292013072700000) . No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.

- Disconnect the video camera electrical connector. Position the wiring harness aside.
