The timing belt drive pinion (1) is separate from the flange (2)
The fixing screw (5) of the flange (2) is not tight, the pinion (1) floats within the limit of travel of the key "a" in the keyway "b" (as "b")
NoteThe flange is held on the crankshaft by a half-moon key and by the screw (5)
New timing assembly
(6) crankshaft gear
(7) accessories drive pulley
(8) washer
(9) bolts
The pinion (6) moves freely on the crankshaft
The accessories drive pulley (7) is held on the crankshaft by a half-moon keyway and by the tightening of the combination of the washer (8) and screw (9)
"A" pinning on the manual gearbox
"B" pinning on the automatic gearbox
Pegging of the crankshaft is done either on the engine flywheel or on the converter drive plate (automatic gearbox)
The pegging hole on the cylinder block (close to the exhaust) is calibrated and strengthened
WarningNever turn the crankshaft with the ancillary drive pulley released
WarningNever remove the ancillary drive pulley without locating the crankshaft and the camshafts
WarningAlways turn the crankshaft clockwise
