The diesel fuel additive pump is submerged inside the fuel additive reservoir
Role
The fuel additive pump injects a precise quantity of additive under pressure into the fuel additive circuit each time the fuel tank is refilled according to the volume of fuel added
Function
"A" additive under pressure

"D" phase of delivery of the additive towards the fuel tank

The fuel additive pump is a positive displacement metering pump
The engine management ECU controls the diesel fuel additive pump via an opening cycle ratio (OCR)
When the coil "c" is supplied, the pump piston "d" moves transversally, the inlet valve "f" allows the additive to pass
When the coil "c" is no longer supplied, the return spring "g" pushes back the pump piston "d", the inlet valve "f" closes, the delivery valve "e" opens, the volume of additive pumped is delivered to the fuel tank
The additive pump control time depends on the quantity of additive to be injected
