Removal Procedure Buick Encore I

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle»(ref-614551-S00215394152014050700000) .
  2. Remove the front wheelhouse liner . Refer to «Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Trax)»(ref-614566-S03953499412014050700000) , «Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Encore)»(ref-614566-S35749267182014050700000) .
  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Remove the hydraulic valve lash adjuster arms. Refer to «Hydraulic Valve Lash Adjuster Arm Replacement»(ref-614552-S27440584062014050700000) .
  5. Remove the spark plugs. Refer to «Spark Plug Replacement»(ref-614588-S19230835352014050700000) .
  6. Shift to 5. gear (MT) or park position (AT) and apply the park brake.
  7. Adjust the engine to TDC of cylinder 1 and fix the crankshaft. Refer to «Camshaft Timing Chain Adjustment»(ref-614552-S13762395502014050700000) .
  8. Mark the crankshaft balancer 180° opposed to the cylinder 1 TDC marking.
