Removal and Installation
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) in the SRS before performing repairs or servicing.
Scheme 49
- Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio system and the navigation system (if equipped), then write down the audio presets.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable, then disconnect the positive cable, and wait at least 3 minutes.
- Remove the left front door sill trim and left kick panel (see «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim__trim-removalinstallation-door-areas) ).
- Disconnect the connectors from the fuse side of the under-dash fuse/relay box (A). (Scheme 49): Identifying Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box
- Remove the two mounting bolts and pull the fuse/ relay box away from the body.
- Disconnect the connectors and remove the under-dash fuse/relay box. NOTE: Some SRS harness connectors are the spring-loaded lock type (see «BACKPROBING SPRING-LOADED LOCK CONNECTORS»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/airbag/#srs-supplemental-restraint-system__backprobing-spring-loaded-lock-connectors) ).
- If replacing the fuse/relay box, carefully remove the relays by prying under the base of the relay. NOTE: Do not use pliers, they will damage the relays.
Installation
- Install the relays and connect the connectors to the under-dash fuse/relay box, then install the under-dash fuse/relay box in the reverse order of removal.
- Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
- Connect the positive cable to the battery, then connect the negative cable to the battery.
- Do the ECM/PCM idle learn procedure (see «ECM/PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/engine-control-systems/#idle-control-system__ecmpcm-idle-learn-procedure) ).
- Do the power window control unit reset procedure (see «RESETTING THE POWER WINDOW»(/acura/tsx/i-2003-2008/remont/windows/#power-window-system__resetting-the-power-window) ).
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system and the navigation system (if equipped), then enter the audio presets. Set the clock (on vehicles without navigation).
- Confirm that all systems work properly.
