Installing the engine control module (ECM) Volvo V70 II

Installing the engine control module (ECM)

  1. Check that no pins or sockets are damaged on the connector.
  2. Carefully press the control module down into the grooves on the inside of the control module box. Press to the limit position.
  3. Insert tool «9995722»(ref-403953-S10522720692011061000000) around the control module.
  4. Move the upper section of the tool forwards as far as it will go. Pull up the tool.
  5. Press the cover into place over the control modules.
  6. Check that the air ducts are correctly positioned.

Order the software according to 9438297 .

Check that no diagnostic trouble codes have been stored during the repair.

Test drive the car. Check that the function of the engine is OK.

Scheme 441: Removing the mass air flow (MAF) sensor

Disconnect the intake manifold from mass air flow (MAF) sensor.

Disconnect the connector from mass air flow (MAF) sensor.

Remove the screws holding the mass air flow (MAF) sensor to the air cleaner (ACL) cover.

Pull and work the mass air flow (MAF) sensor loose from the air cleaner (ACL) cover.

Note. Apply water to the O-ring in the air cleaner (ACL) cover to facilitate installation of the mass air flow (MAF) sensor.

Press the mass air flow (MAF) sensor into place.

Install the screws. Tighten.

Install the intake manifold on the mass air flow (MAF) sensor.

Connect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor connector.

Scheme 442: Removing the turbocharger (TC) control valve

Lift the valve away from the air cleaner (ACL) cover.

Remove the connector from the valve.

Mark up and pull off the hoses.
