Engine torque
The control module checks the engine torque shortly before shifting. This is so that the torque will return to the correct level after reduction.
Measurement range: -512 - +511 Nm (-378 - +377 lb.ft)
511 = No torque limiting request
Torque check
The transmission control module (TCM) requests torque-limiting from the engine control module (ECM) in order to limit torque immediately before shifting. The signal is used to inform the ABS control module when the driver has requested torque reduction. This is so that the torque will return to the correct level after reduction.
Measurement range: -512 - +511 Nm (-378 - +377 lb.ft)
511 = No torque limiting request
Torque reduction when shifting
The transmission control module (TCM) requests torque-limiting from the engine control module (ECM) in order to limit torque immediately before shifting. Torque limiting can occur at three different levels: 25%, 35% or 45%. Limitation lasts for less than 1 second.
0 = No torque limiting requested
25, 35, 45% = Torque limiting requested
Torque limiting requested
The transmission control module (TCM) requests torque-limiting from the engine control module (ECM) in order to limit torque immediately before shifting. The signal is used to inform the ABS control module when the driver has requested torque reduction. This is so that the torque will return to the correct level after reduction.
