DTC P1507: IDLE CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION (FAIL-SAFE) Subaru Outback BH

  1. Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See «BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE»(ref-63535-S26517940312001020900000) . If DTCs P0500, P0508 or P0509 exist, diagnose and repair those DTCs. Do not diagnose DTC P1507. If DTC P1507 is only DTC set, go to next step.
  2. Ensure throttle cable is properly adjusted. See ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article. Start engine and allow to idle. Check intake manifold, idle air control solenoid valve and throttle body for loose installation, defective, cracked gaskets and/or disconnected vacuum hoses. Repair as necessary. If no leaks or faults are detected in air intake system, replace idle air control solenoid valve. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See «CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES»(ref-63535-S26931138132001020900000) and «VERIFICATION PROCEDURE»(ref-63535-S38101445392001020900000) .
