Automatic Transaxle (Service Information): Overhaul Scion xD I

REASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE MANUAL VALVE Coat the manual valve with Toyota Genuine ATF WS or equivalent, and install it to the valve body.
2. INSTALL NO. 3 SOLENOID LOCK PLATE Install the shift solenoid valve SLT to the valve body. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 No. 1 Solenoid Lock Plate *2 No. 3 Solenoid Lock Plate *3 Shift Solenoid Valve ST *4 Shift Solenoid Valve SLT Install the No. 1 solenoid lock plate to the shift solenoid valve SLT. Install the shift solenoid valve ST to the valve body. Install the No. 3 solenoid lock plate to the valve body with the 2 bolts. Torque: 11 N*m ( 110 kgf*cm, 8 in.*lbf)
3. INSTALL SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU Install the shift solenoid valve SLU onto the valve body. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Solenoid Lock Plate Install the solenoid lock plate with the bolt. Torque: 11 N*m ( 110 kgf*cm, 8 in.*lbf)
4. INSTALL SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE S2 Install the shift solenoid valve S2 to the valve body with the bolt. Torque: 11 N*m ( 110 kgf*cm, 8 in.*lbf)
5. INSTALL SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE S1 Install the shift solenoid valve S1 to the valve body with the bolt. Torque: 11 N*m ( 110 kgf*cm, 8 in.*lbf)

1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY Coat a new transaxle case 2nd brake gasket and transaxle case gasket with Toyota Genuine ATF WS or equivalent and install them into the transaxle case. Install the check ball body spring and check ball body. Align the groove of the manual valve with the pin of the manual valve lever. Provisionally install the transmission valve body assembly with the 13 bolts. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *a Bolt length : 32 mm (1.26 in.) *b Bolt length : 22 mm (0.87 in.) *c Bolt length : 55 mm (2.17 in.) *d Bolt length : 45 mm (1.77 in.) Provisionally install the manual detent spring and manual detent spring cover with the 2 bolts. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Manual Detent Spring Cover *2 Manual Detent Spring *a Bolt length : 14 mm (0.55 in.) *b Bolt length : 45 mm (1.77 in.) Check that the manual valve lever is in contact with the center of the roller at the tip of the detent spring. Tighten the 15 bolts. Torque: 11 N*m ( 110 kgf*cm, 8 in.*lbf) Connect the 5 shift solenoid valve connectors. Install the ATF temperature sensor with the lock plate and bolt. Torque: 11 N*m ( 110 kgf*cm, 8 in.*lbf) Bolt length 55 mm (2.17 in.)
2. INSTALL VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY Coat a new oil strainer gasket with Toyota Genuine ATF WS or equivalent, and install it into the valve body oil strainer assembly. Install the valve body oil strainer assembly with the 3 bolts. Torque: 11 N*m ( 110 kgf*cm, 8 in.*lbf)
3. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY Install the 2 oil cleaner magnets onto the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly, as shown in the illustration. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Oil Cleaner Magnet Install the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly and a new oil pan gasket with the 19 bolts. Torque: 7.8 N*m ( 80 kgf*cm, 69 ft.*lbf)
4. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID
5. INSPECT AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID LEVEL . See step 1
6. INSPECT FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID LEAK
7. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER LH Torque: 5.0 N*m ( 51 kgf*cm, 44 ft.*lbf)
