DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
Saab Dashboard Integrated Central Electronics (DICE) is a comprehensive control system for vehicle electronic functions. Central unit in DICE is a control module that communicates with system components and other components via wiring and instrument bus (I bus). DICE module is located under left side of instrument panel. (Scheme 1) DICE has its own diagnostics function and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) that set when a fault is detected.
Functions controlled by DICE include exterior lighting, interior lighting, button illumination and lighting for controls, acoustic warning, intermittent wiper operation for windshield and rear window, heated rear window and door mirrors, radiator fan, and air conditioning.

INTERMITTENT WIPER OPERATION
Intermittent wiper (windshield and rear window) operation can be adjusted between 2-5 seconds with a potentiometer on wiper stalk switch. DICE also controls wipers when windshield and rear window washers are operating. During a short wash, wipers move 3 strokes. This increases to a maximum of 5 for longer washing times. Rear window wipers move a few strokes, after a delay, while washing.
