- With vehicle in neutral, position vehicle on hoist.
- Remove axle half shafts. Refer to «Removal»(ref-457779-S01175435212012030200000) .
- Mark (4) front propeller shaft (2) and companion flange (1). Remove front propeller shaft (2). Refer to «SHAFT, Drive, Front Light Duty , Removal»(ref-457778-S29911207512012030200000) or «SHAFT, Drive, Front Heavy Duty , Removal»(ref-457778-S29439826002012030200000) .
- Remove skid plate (1) bolts (2) and remove skid plate.
- Remove suspension crossmember (1) nuts (2) and bolts. Remove crossmember.
- Remove disconnect actuator (1) wiring connector (2).
- Remove vent hose (1) from differential cove tube (2).
- Support axle with hydraulic jack.
- Remove axle housing pinion mounting bolts (1).
- Remove axle shaft tube (1) mounting bolts (2).
- Remove differential housing (1) to engine mounting bolts (2).
- Lower axle from the vehicle.
