- With vehicle in neutral, position vehicle on hoist.
- Position a lift under axle and secure lift to the axle.
- Mark propeller shaft and companion flange for installation alignment reference.
- Remove propeller shaft (1) from pinion flange (3).
- Remove brake calipers, rotors, ABS wheel speed sensors.
- Remove brake hose retainer (1) bolts (2) from axle.
- Disconnect axle vent hose.
- Remove stabilizer bar link (1) nuts (2).
- Remove stabilizer bar links (1) from axle with Puller (special tool #C-3894-A, Puller, Tie Rod).
- Remove shock absorbers (1) bolts (4) from axle brackets.
- Remove track bar bolt from the axle bracket.
- Remove damper from axle bracket.
- Remove tie rod and drag link from the steering knuckles with Puller (special tool #C-3894-A, Puller, Tie Rod).
- Remove upper control arm (1) nuts (2) and bolts from axle brackets.
- Remove lower control arm (1) nuts and bolts (2) from the axle brackets.
- Lower the axle. The coil springs will drop with the axle.
- Remove coil springs from the axle bracket.
