The Checking System
A technical checking concept has been developed that points the way for the checking of electronic systems in vehicles.
At the heart of the checking system are TECH 1 and TECH 80.
Together with Electronic Kit I and Multimeter MKM-587-A, all new generation vehicles can be checked using the most modern electronic methods.
As only electronic components are checked using KM-640 and/or TECH 1, only statements about electrical, electronic faults can be made.
With TECH 1, a new phase in diagnosis began.
Using this Hand Tester, it is possible to read out streams of data from electronic control units.
A precondition for this is the use of electronic systems with
- Microprocessor techniques
- Self-diagnosis
- Serial data line
TECH 1 is connected via the diagnostic plug in the vehicle. TECH 1 is a Hand Tester, constructed using module techniques.
This form of design ensures that modern electronic systems can be checked now and in the future.
The streams of data captured on TECH 1 are presented on a 4-line, 16-character display.
The current actual values displayed are compared with the nominal values from the data list.
Where there are deviations from the relevant nominal values, a trouble-shooting program is available, so that the user can make a clear diagnosis.
The TECH 1 checking concept means rapid and accurate trouble-shooting.
