Performance Test Opel Omega B

Air Conditioning ~252 words

Performance Test

The performance test is used to determine whether the temperature of the emerging air, the low pressure and high pressure at specific ambient temperatures and engine speeds meet the specifications.

The following conditions must be observed:

  • Carry out performance test in a location protected against the wind (avoid draughts).
  • Connect service station to high and low pressure service connection - see Omega-B Service Instructions.
  • For vehicles without Electronic Climate Control [ECC], close windows and doors, carefully lower bonnet.
  • Start engine and switch on air conditioning, or for vehicles with ECC, press AUTO (automatic operation).
  • Both temperature switches to left stop (cold), or for vehicles with ECC press corresponding key for maximum cooling ( LO ).
  • Air distribution switch at "face level", or for vehicles with ECC press corresponding button.
  • Set maximum fan speed; for vehicles with ECC, the recirculating air and maximum fan speed are set automatically when the system is in automatic operation and at maximum cooling.
  • Recirculating air switch off; for vehicles with ECC, the recirculating air and maximum fan speed are set automatically when the system is in automatic operation and at maximum cooling.
  • For vehicles with ECC, open front and rear doors.
  • Allow engine to run for 15 minutes at idle speed. Then set to an engine speed of 1500 rpm -1 for 5 minutes.
  • Open all vent nozzles

Measure ambient temperature and temperature at the vent nozzles using Measuring Unit MKM-596 and compere with performance ratings.

Measure relative humidity with commercially available hygrometer.
