Replace Piston Rings Opel Corsa C

Remove

  1. 1. Remove all pistons with con-rods
  2. 2. Removing piston rings • Remove piston rings using piston ring pliers (1)
  3. 3. Clean ring grooves

Note. Clean piston ring groove for rectangular compression ring (2), tapered compression ring (3) and oil scraper ring (4) using ground side of an old piston ring.

  1. 4. Checking gap • Insert piston rings in cylinder • Check gap using feeler gauge

Note. Permitted piston ring gap - see "Technical Data"

Install

  1. 5. Attach piston rings

Note. Use piston ring pliers to insert piston rings into ring groove with "TOP" marking facing up

  1. 6. Adjust piston rings • Piston rings (I), rectangular compression ring (1) and tapered compression ring (2) offset by 180° • Offset oil scraper rings (3) (II) 25 - 50 mm to right and left of intermediate ring gap
  2. 7. Check piston ring vertical play • Check using feeler gauge in ring groove
  1. 8. Replace piston rings • 3 pistons
  2. 9. Install all pistons with con-rods
