Applicable to Vehicles with M20-6 Mta Transmission
- 1. Remove left engine damping block
- 2. Slacken high-pressure pump unit, MTA transmission (1) • Unscrew 3x bolts (arrow)
- 3. Detach starter on transmission side • Unscrew bolt on the transmission side
Note. With extension between transmission and high-pressure pump unit transmission
- 4. Raise vehicle by its full height
- 5. Remove vacuum reservoir (1) with bracket (2) • Detach 2x vacuum line • Detach ground cable – Unscrew nut • Unscrew 2x bolts
- 6. Detach starter (1) on engine side • Unscrew bolt (2) • Remove starter
Install
- 7. Attach starter on engine side • Screw in bolt
Note. Do not tighten bolt yet
- 8. Lower vehicle by its full height
- 9. Attach starter on transmission side • Tighten bolt 25 Nm
Note. With extension between transmission and high-pressure pump unit transmission
- 10. Raise vehicle by its full height
- 11. Secure starter on engine side • Tighten bolt 25 Nm
- 12. Install vacuum reservoir with bracket • Attach 2x vacuum line • Install ground cable – Tighten nut • Tighten 2x bolts
- 13. Lower vehicle by its full height
- 14. Attach high-pressure pump unit to transmission • Tighten 3x bolt 10 Nm
- 15. Install left engine damping block
