Removal & Installation: Removal & Installation Nissan Maxima A32

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Drain engine oil. Remove covers from below engine. Remove front exhaust pipe.
  2. Remove drive belts. Remove A/C compressor and support aside. Remove A/C compressor bracket. Remove bellhousing cover plate. Position a jack under crankshaft pulley to support engine. Remove engine mount-to-crossmember bolts. Remove crossmember.
  3. Remove oil pan bolts. Separate oil pan from cylinder block by driving Seal Cutter (J37228) between pan and block. DO NOT pry pan away from block with a screwdriver; pan or block gasket surface may be damaged.

Installation

Carefully clean all gasket surfaces. Apply bead of liquid gasket to oil pan mating surface. Install oil pan and bolts. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
