Removal
- Release fuel system pressure. See «FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE»(ref-49459-S10341004852001011500000). Label and disconnect all electrical connectors, hoses and cables necessary for intake manifold collector removal.
- Remove intake manifold collectors. Remove spark plugs. Remove cylinder head covers. Remove timing chain. See TIMING CHAIN. NOTE: Mark sprockets, camshaft brackets and camshafts for reassembly reference.
- Remove camshaft sprockets. Remove timing camshaft tensioners from cylinder heads. Camshaft tensioners are located at front of cylinder heads between camshafts. Remove camshaft bracket bolts in sequence. (Схема №4) Loosen bolts in 2 or 3 steps. Remove camshaft bracket bolts and brackets. Remove camshafts.
Installation
Lubricate bearing surfaces. Install camshafts ensuring camshaft keyways are positioned toward top surface of cylinder head. Install camshaft brackets. Tighten bracket bolts to specification in reverse order of removal. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. (Схема №4) To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
